Secret Bothy’s traditional exterior belies a contemporary interior. Here is a 19th century cottage with 21st century credentials. The layout, furnishings, equipment and amenities have been thoughtfully curated to create a vintage country cottage with unrivalled comfort.

The central living space is light and airy. The vaulted ceiling, exposed stone wall and underfloor heating combine to provide character and warmth. A comfortable ambient temperature is guaranteed throughout the cottage. However, the wood burning stove with complimentary basket of logs ramps up the cosy factor.

A TV screen, with Sky connection, is discreetly wall-mounted at one end of the room. At the other, the kitchen is complete with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, fridge, freezer, espresso maker and dining table. The pantry is stocked with all essentials for guests’ convenience.

Both bedrooms have a double bed, made-up with non-allergenic bedlinen, and are furnished with TV, radio and hairdrier. A baby cot is available on request. One bedroom has a spacious ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi bath, walk-in shower, underfloor heating, demisting mirror, heated towel rail, soft towels, bathrobes and toiletries.  The second bedroom has an ensuite walk-in shower that is similarly well equipped.

The entrance to the cottage is via a bootroom, designed for safe storage of outdoor gear. The bootroom doubles as a utility room with washing machine, clothes drier, sink and iron.

In spite of being secluded in a private garden among some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery, there is reliable WiFi internet. Sky channels are delivered by satellite and there is a reasonable mobile phone signal.

Private parking is available at the front of the cottage where there is also a covered area for bicycles. French doors at the back open on to a well tended walled garden.
